There was a brigade associated with an arborist walk

On Sunday, June 14, 2020, in the afternoon, a brigade connected with a walk with an arborist took place in the garden of the Pod Rapidem courtyard. Approximately twenty inhabitants took part in the brigade. Luckily we wished, not dividing the rain exactly for the duration of the brigade from three to eight hours stopped. What did we do on the brigade? We brought 200 kg of compost and 400 kg of mulch. We bought 11 shrubs, 9 wrapping trees and over 70 planting plants. Another task was the replacement of sand in the sandpit and just before the brigade, a notice board was installed.

First, we removed the infected boxwoods - two rows in the central common area and several solitary ones. In their place, we carved the soil and improved it with compost. They were replaced by edible (aronia, fly agaric, Kamchatka blueberry) and ornamental species (trojpuk, zákula, sazaník, vajgélie), which we planted with perennials (eg quality, runaway, lung, powdery mildew and strawberries). We added vines (clematis, honeysuckle, akbie) to the wire fence. Instead of geotextiles, we mulched the plants with fine perennial bark.

Proposal of modifications

Based on a meeting of residents, a survey and after consultations with the management of the cooperative, an assignment was created for the proposal of modifications. The landscape architect designed, among other things, a common area with a sitting area, a space for small children, a free area for older children, a place to sit in the shade, a curb replacement or a climbing frame to shield unsightly garages. The solution also includes rainwater management. The proposal also served as a basis for a grant application to the grant program of the Capital City of Prague in the field of the environment for the years 2020 - 21. Ranking of needs of cooperatives

Based on the proposed suggestions and the allocated preferential votes from the meeting and the electronic survey, a ranking of needs was created. A total of twenty people attended the joint meeting, and another twenty-four people voted in the electronic survey. In total, over forty garden users took part in the debate. The ranking shows the main values, problems and welcome activities associated with the garden. The determination of specific steps and the next step is the subject of a more detailed consideration.

A neighborhood meeting was held to revive the court

On Tuesday, November 12, a meeting of cooperatives took place, organized by Družstvo Pod Rapidem and the association Bieno zs. The aim of the meeting was to map the needs of users through a guided debate. The aim of the meeting was to find out the widest possible range of opinions and suggestions. The meeting, which took place in the former laundry house Pod Rapidem 4 due to bad weather, was attended by about twenty teammates. The basic areas of questions were:

A) What are the current values ​​of the garden - what is appropriate to maintain and develop from the current state? + sorting according to importance
B) What are the current problems of the garden - what should be tried to solve or at least not deepen? + sorting according to importance
C) What are the ideas and welcome activities for the future - for which activities is it appropriate to create conditions and space? + sorting by importance

Invitation to the Neighborhood Meeting on November 12, 2019

Invitation to a neighborhood meeting to revive our garden. Intended for anyone who is not indifferent to our garden! Please accept the invitation to a friendly neighborhood meeting about the revitalization of our garden and its future appearance. The meeting will take place in the presence of the Bieno zs association, which has long been engaged in revitalizing the courtyards of Prague's apartment buildings. In case of bad weather we will meet in the former laundry room on the lower ground floor of the house Pod Rapidem 4.
